With the spring located on the atmospheric side, this seal provides followability even with high peripheral velocity and high viscosity fluids, ensuring stable sealing performance. Perpendicularity errors in the stuffing box end face are absorbed by the spring, so that the sliding surface stays at a right angle to the center of the shaft, resulting in stable sealing performance.
